Yucatán, 1897. A hacienda in the Tierra Caliente as a tropical storm gathers in the night. The air stands still, and the waiting for the storm stretches time.
The night is broken down into contrasts: pale moonlight on a dark, ornamented carpet, and between them an island of candlelight. In the half-dark, Libertad reads the tale of a sinister creature made from dead matter. While the storm hesitates, the line between text and perception erodes. The story is already taking hold of the physical reality of the room.
With motifs from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
